Fire Forces Temporary Relocation of Community Corrections Offices

Until further notice, the Loudoun County Department of Community Corrections will operate out of the Loudoun County Government Center at 1 Harrison Street, S.E. in Leesburg.

A fire early Wednesday morning damaged the Community Corrections offices at 107 Loudoun Street in Leesburg. Case managers and other department staff are temporarily located in the Purcellville Room on the first floor of the Loudoun County government center, located across Loudoun Street from the Community Corrections office. Anyone who needs to avail themselves of the services of the Community Corrections office should report to the government center and they will be directed to the Purcellville Room.

At approximately 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday November 14, 2012, the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center dispatched units for a structure fire at the Department of Community Corrections, 107 Loudoun Street, in Leesburg. Fire and rescue units responded from Leesburg, Hamilton, Lansdowne, Lucketts and Ashburn.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but crews remained on the scene and the extended operations forced a temporary closure of the government center parking structure, which reopened at 8:00 a.m.

No one was injured in the fire. The Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the incident.
