The Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the fire that damaged the building housing the Loudoun County Department of Community Corrections in Leesburg Wednesday, November 14, 2012, was caused by arson. Authorities are asking the public for help in determining who deliberately set the fire. Fire and rescue units from Leesburg, Hamilton, Lansdowne, Lucketts and Ashburn responded to the fire at 107 Loudoun Street in Leesburg at about 6:15 a.m., Wednesday. The fire was quickly extinguished. No one was injured. Damage to the structure was extensive and is estimated at $200,000. The fire forced the relocation of the Community Corrections staff to a building at 106 Edwards Ferry Road, N.E. in Leesburg until further notice.

In addition, the substance abuse groups that normally met on Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Loudoun Street location will now meet on Monday and Tuesday evenings in the 3rd floor conference room of the Shenandoah Building, 102 Heritage Way, N.E. in Leesburg.
